DAY ONE:
Description: Our team will pick you up at the Geneva airport and transport you to La Chenarie in Peisey-Nancroix. Our home base for the next 4 nights will be a chalet overlooking the Parc National de la Vanoise, a refuge for wildlife and vegetation. Athletes will assemble their bikes or get fit on rental bikes before heading out for an easy spin.
Details: Enjoy a cocktail on the deck or in the hot tub before enjoying a homemade meal at our chalet while getting to know your travel mates. |
DAY TWO:
Description: The Cormet de Roselend will gently warm us in to the French Alps and help us find our climbing legs. Enjoy the forest opening up into grassy fields before cresting the climb and being gobsmacked by the bright turquoise water of Lac de Roselend. A fun descent will lead us to a bakery where we will regroup before continuing on to tackle the leg busting Col du Pré and back up and over the Cormet de Roselend.
Details: Throw your kit in the wash and enjoy a celebratory drink in the hot tub to rest tired legs and prepare for tomorrow. Dinner will be another feast made by the loving hands of our hosts. |
DAY THREE:
Description: Tour de France fans will recognize the stars of today's ride, the Col de la Madeleine and Lacets de Montvernier. There is a wonderful 40 km warm-up, mostly on bike paths, before your cadence slows down and the climb up the Col de la Madeleine begins. There is so much history on this mountain that you can hear the ghostly cheers of the hundreds of thousands of fans who cheer on the pro riders in July. From there, we make our way up the squiggly Lacets de Montvernier and on to the Col de Chaussy before ending our ride and being shuttled back to the chalet.
Details: Your taste buds will begin to salivate in anticipation of what awaits you, another wonderful 3 course meal. |
DAY FOUR:
Description: Today's ride was made famous by the 2019 Tour de France, remember the mud slide? We will shuttle to Val d'Isère and ride up and down the Col de L'Iseran, a climb with marmots and vistas that go on forever. La Rosière is next and might just be the best treat of the week, with pink roads and a feeling of riding on top of the mountains, it's a wonder this climb isn't more famous. The transition into our last climb of the day is seamless as we continue on our 28 km climb up to the summit of Col du Petit Saint-Bernard and the Italian border. It will all be worth it though as we descend 30+ km to a patio and some post ride carbo-loading.
Details: Throw your laundry in as this is our last night at the Chalet, and enjoy yet another delicious meal by our wonderful hosts. |
DAY FIVE:
Description: Have your bags packed and loaded today as we ride from our chalet in Peisy to Annecy, mostly on bike paths! There will be time to stop at cafés and boulangeries as we make our way to one of the prettiest cities in France. With its clear lake and surrounding mountains, Annecy is a place that takes your breath away ... and your stress with it.
Details: We will end our ride in the middle of Annecy, a charming and beautiful town that is worth exploring. Surrounded by canals, outdoor patios, overflowing flower displays, and great shopping, it is worth getting in to town early to explore on foot. Our final dinner together will be at a local restaurant where we will celebrate new friendships and cycling efforts. |
DAY SIX: DEPARTURE OR MORE RIDING IN ANNECY
The Cycling Centre team will drop you off at the Geneva airport today, or you can enjoy exploring the canals and beauty of the town of Annecy and continue your cycling adventures. We would be happy to help you with an Annecy Trip of any length, a magical place for cyclists with endless routes and adventures.
