Lights, camera, action - or in cycling terms, sun, views, wandering ways. Options for outdoor fun and interesting routes are endless in this idyllic coastal oasis, making it a prime cycling destination. This camp is about more then just the bike as we'll spend our afternoons on the sand, in the water, up the mountain, at stores, affected and inspired by culture and scenery. Join us on this trip that will stimulate the body, arouse the taste buds, and ease the mind.
DAY ONE: ARRIVAL AND SPIN

A smiling and happy Cycling Centre face will greet you at the airport, it's California after all, known for sun, surf, and spunk.
After arriving at the Spanish Villa that will serve as home for the next six days, you'll settle in and relax as staff assemble your bike. We'll venture on an easy ride together to ensure bikes are working properly and spin out the jet lagged legs.
Dinner will be at Gladstone's, a restaurant known for their seafood and sweeping ocean views. Fingers crossed for a stunning sunset as we enjoy a cocktail or two with our dinner.

DAY TWO: RIDE, RED, RELAX

Ride: Our ride just happens to go past a winery today, isn't that lucky?! We'll enjoy a sampling of 4 different wines with our picnic lunch while surrounded by the beautiful scenery of majestic oak trees and hillside vineyards.

Afternoon Fun: Activities include relaxing on the beach or venturing out on the water for a 2 hour kayak or stand-up-paddle board tour of Malibu's breathtaking coastline and Santa Monica mountain range.

DAY THREE: TWO-WHEELING, TREKKING, TASTING

Ride: We'll head in to the Santa Monica mountains today for a long 108 km loop. Riders wanting a shorter loop will have bail out points, or are welcome to hop in the support van.
Ride Details: 108 km, 1,100 meter elevation gain
Afternoon Fun: Our villa is just steps away from the Los Liones hiking trail. Weaving through a lush canyon, the trail reveals a ridge-top clearing with views so majestic and awe-inspiring that loitering at the top is a must; even if you don't need the rest after climbing the 1.3 miles and 550 foot gain to get there. The hike is an optional activity, but sure to be a highlight for the adventurous in the group. Those choosing not to hike can enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon at the villa or the beach.

Ride: Climbing up to Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park will be rural before heading in to the urban area of Beverly Hills and back to the Villa. Riders wanting more can continue towards Mont Nibo, another 53 km and 1,250 meters of climbing.
Ride Details: 59-113 km, 550-1,750 meter elevation gain
Afternoon Fun: Santa Monica is known for it's shopping and entertainment. We'll spend the afternoon exploring the downtown charm, browsing the local stores, and if we arrive before 1, the weekly farmers market. There are pedestrian only promenades, well known stores, and local merchants. Those looking for something with a bit more adrenalin can spend the afternoon at the famous pier and old fashioned amusement park, Pacific Park.
Ride Details: 59-113 km, 550-1,750 meter elevation gain
Afternoon Fun: Santa Monica is known for it's shopping and entertainment. Ride: This long loop will take is in to Thousand Oaks with some bumps and hiccups to climb over. Shorter option is to cut across and form a shorter loop or hop in the support van.

Afternoon Fun: Our last day will be full of stimulation for our senses. The afternoon will offer the opportunity to explore the gardens, architecture, and/or art at the Getty Centre. There is something for everyone at this impressive cultural museum. The final dinner will be at the Rustic Canyon Wine Bar offering farmer market inspired meals. Ingredients are from local farmers, ranchers, and fisherman who practice sustainable agriculture.

Shuttles will be arranged depending on flight departure times. Athletes with flights later in the day may choose to ride in the morning or explore the local town and pick up some last minute gifts and keepsakes.
